Pricing Policy for Service Provider

Discover the set up steps and implications of the Pricing Policy flag on Customer Tenant.
The Pricing Policy flag provides the ability for the Service Provider (SP) to control whether its Pricing Policy is applied to the Customer Tenant (CT).

Setting up Pricing Policy flag

The flag
Disable_CT_Pricing_Policy
on Service Provider Tenant is set up by the Cluster admin or Foundation admin roles for Coreplus/CommonServices application.
To set up the Disable_CT_Pricing_Policy, go to Tenant Manager of Root tenant, and then create the Service Provider Tenant.
You must fill in all the account information required for Service Provider Tenant and then click
Next
. Then, in the
Select Applications
page, you select
Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications Common Services
– Entry, which displays to the right side of the screen and the Disable_CT_Pricing_Policy feature flag at the bottom.
You can toggle the switch to turn it on or off, to enable or disable the feature flag. By default, this flag is disabled. If it is disabled, the CT sets its own Pricing Policies. Yet, if the flag is enabled, CT uses the Pricing Policy set by the SP.

Pricing Policy on Customer Tenant

If
Disable_CT_Pricing_Policy
is disabled in SP, then the Customer Tenant does not inherit the Pricing policy from the SP and the Pricing Policy configured on CT is the one that applies.
If
Disable_CT_Pricing_Policy
is enabled in SP, then the Customer Tenant inherits the Pricing Policy configured in SP. The Customer Tenant cannot create/update/read/delete policies available on its tenant.
This Service Provider Pricing Policy applies only if the Corporate Currency (CC) from the Service Provider (SP) and the Customer Tenant (CT) is the same.

Managing Pricing Policies

The responsibility of managing the Pricing Policy lies with the Service Provider (SP). It is the Pricing Policy Administrators who can manage the Pricing Policy centrally at Service Provider Tenant for the Customer Tenants.
This offers a single point of control for the SP, making it easier to maintain and monitor Pricing Policies. All actions to be taken on Pricing Policies, are accessed from the
Pricing Management
page.
The
Pricing Management
page provides two tabs at the beginning of the page:
  • Pricing policies
  • Customer tenants for onboarding
To Edit, Activate, or Edit Pricing Policies, from the
Pricing Management
page, click the
Pricing Policies
tab and then click the Actions menu next to the Pricing Policy you want to take an action on, from the list of all the policies.
For more information on Pricing Management, see Pricing Management.
To onboard tenants, you must select them from the list presented in the
Customer tenants for onboarding
tab.

Pricing Policies Actions

Once set, Pricing Policies allow you to perform the following actions:
  • View the list of customer Tenants that will be onboarded.
  • Select one or more customer Tenants from the Service Provider (SP) to set, edit, or delete the Pricing Policy.
  • See that the changes made to the Pricing Policy (set/edit/delete) from SP Tenant are reflected in the respective customer Tenant(s), and the Customer Tenant can view these Pricing Policies at their end.
  • Set, edit, and delete the Pricing Policy for the SP Tenant.
  • See an informational message that conveys the following for the customer Tenant if the Pricing Policy is set by the SP Tenant: "The Pricing Policy is set by the SP Tenant, hence the customer Tenant cannot perform operations like setting, editing, or deleting the Pricing Policy."
  • See that the customer Tenant cannot edit, delete, set, or add new Pricing Policies.
  • Filter the Pricing policies based on the Customer Tenant in the SP Tenant.
